A LORRY driver from Farnworth who crashed into a motorway bridge will go on trial.
George Richard Laing, aged 55, formerly of Dyson Close, Farnworth, and now of Berthampstead, Hertfordshire, had admitted driving without due care and attention on the M62 at Rochdale last summer.
The defendant has denied driving an articulated lorry with a faulty braking system.
Michael John Booker, aged 40, of MJ Booker Transport, The Mount, Heap Brow, Bury, also denied using the HGV when the braking system was not in proper working order.
Proceedings arise out of an accident on the M62 at Rochdale when the lorry, a low loader carrying heavy plant, collided with a bridge pillar causing severe damage to the vehicle.
