THE trial of ex-Wanderers soccer star Frank Worthington, who has been accused of careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident, has been adjourned by Bury magistrates.
Worthington, aged 54, of New Hey Road in Huddersfield, has denied charges of driving without due care and attention on the M62 at Rochdale in March last year, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report the accident to the police.
Worthington, a former player with several clubs including Bolton Wanderers, Leicester City and Huddersfield Town, was alleged to have been driving his Rover 75, which was involved in an incident in which damage was caused to a Peugeot 306, a Peugeot 206 and a Nissan Micra.
Bury magistrates have adjourned the case until April 30.
