TRAFFIC police have launched an appeal to trace a driver who ran from the wreckage of his car after a collision in Manchester Road, Bolton.
He was driving a red Toyota Corolla -- registration number E305 AHE -- near the Green Lane junction towards Bolton when it collided into the back of a white Nissan Vanette being driven by a 43-year-old man from Warrington. Police said he suffered minor injuries and whiplash.
But the driver of the Toyota -- described as of Asian appearance -- is thought to have ran from the scene. The car was recovered by police but its owner has not been traced.
Today police appealed for anyone who might know the car or the man to contact them. Sgt Ken Carter, of Bolton's Traffic Police, said: "We do not know whether he was injured or not but the car was badly damaged."
The collision occurred at 3.20pm on Sunday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 5972 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
