BLACKROD Town came away with a 2-1 win after a bruising encounter with Burnley United that resulted in seven yellow cards.
Five of them were given to Burnley players with Mark Height and goalkeeper Mark Allen, the Blackrod offenders.
Allen, however, took the man of the match award for a series of five saves, three of them in the first half which helped keepthe scoreline blank at half-time.
Fives minutes into the second half Blackrod took the lead with a well taken effort by Height but Burnley drew level after the home side failed to cut out a through ball.
That spurred on Blackrod and when Height crossed from the right, Chris Tonge collected and wrong-footed the Burnley keeper to hit a 73rd minute winner.
