I AM writing to thank Frank Elson for highlighting the problems faced by horse riders in Bolton with his article.
The Smithills and District bridleways association welcomes new members and would like to invite people to an open meeting on March 11 at Smithills Hall at 8pm. The group also has members who are non riders but want the countryside to remain open to as many people as possible.
The meeting will be an opportunity for people to see what the association has achieved and how it works. Refreshments will be available. We are also holding a quiz night at the Blundell Arms on Tuesday, February 18, at 8pm which is open to non members too.
For details on any of the groups events which include organised fun rides around the park, or for membership details call the rangers office on 334010 or myself on 497979.
