STUDENTS across Bolton are looking forward to quizzing Government education chiefs about university reforms.
Education Secretary Charles Clarke and higher education minister Margaret Hodge are set to try and sell their reforms to the public in the North West at an as yet undisclosed location, as part of a far-reaching education roadshow that will see the ministers travelling to every region in the country.
Mr Clarke said: "I am going to take this plan for the future of higher education to the four corners of England, discussing face to face with students, employers and those in higher education why we need to invest and why we need to reform. I want to have a frank and open debate about how we are going to get more people from poorer backgrounds into universities and colleges.
A spokesperson for Bolton Institute students' union welcomed news of the roadshow and said a number of their students would definitely want to attend when it comes to the North West.
Details of the roadshow are to be released in the next two weeks.
