FREEZING wind, hail, rain and sleet saw the weight's plummet in last weeks 'Cats and Dogs Bradshaw pairs' match on what normally is a very productive fishery.
John Jones of Team HB needed only 15lb-10oz of roach to win the fifth match of the eight match series . John fished long pole feeding a steady flow of bronze maggot with bronze maggot on the hook from peg 19 on lake 2.
Helen Dagnall of Cheshire Angling came second with 2, carp and silver fish for 13lb-0oz and third was Mick Shaw of GTI Gold with 8lb-4oz.
Winner on lake 4 was Kerry Kirkwood of BAS Sensas whose 3lb-3oz complimented his team mates second runner-up spotn and led them to winning pair on the day with only three points.
Bolton Anglers Association have reorganised the Jack Shannahan Memorial Match for Tuesday February 11 on Bolton Canal.
Because of work at the hall Lane end the draw will take place at the Nob Inn end at 8-30am and fishing is from 10am until 3pm. Conditions will not allow the match to be postponed on this occasion.
