IN the light of the growing anxiety over an impending war with Iraq, I am of the opinion of the majority.

Personally President George W Bush has been constantly sabre-rattling of late and is goading Saddam Hussein into war.

I am totally against any involvement in other people's wars. Remember, America only came to our aid in the Second World War due to Germany declaring war on America with Japan.

I know this is an old chestnut, but it is a fact, so why should Tony Blair be President Bush's lackey and have us in tow on this one?

We haven't been attacked, so it isn't our fight. France and Germany are against any war and didn't want to get involved in the Gulf War 12 years ago (Europe suits itself).

Some correspondents say that it is a war for oil. This was definitely the case during the Gulf War, as America, with us in tow led by Bush Snr, liberated Kuwait for the sake of their oil, not for the Kuwaitis themselves. We can't stop America going it alone, but to have us involved is undemocratic. I think Tony Blair wants to capitalise on a conflict, as Margaret Thatcher did over the Falklands fiasco!
