WHY should I come to Bolton to do my shopping when I paid the correct parking fee and yet still got a parking fine?
On December 27, I parked on Deane Road car park and paid £1.20 for two hours parking.
I walked to the town centre to do some shopping. When I had passed through the market I realised two hours was not long enough, so I returned and paid an extra 60p for another one hour, giving me three hours parking.
When I returned I found I had a parking fine, even though I had been parked for only two and three quarter hours.
I rang the parking services and was told the wardens are trained to read one ticket only and that I should appeal. My appeal was turned down because you are only allowed five minutes to change your parking fee. I had waited 20 minutes.
I would like someone to explain the difference the time lapse makes? As long as you pay enough to cover your parking what difference does it make?
I would like to point out there is nothing on the parking board stating the rules on adding extra fees.
On my appeal refusal letter, they advised me to take my case to independent adjudication. But if this fails my fine goes from £30 to £60.
