I WAS rather surprised to find on reading a letter on Monday, that I had complained about buying visitors permits for visitors to Bolton Spiritualist Church on Bradford Street.
My main concern is that would-be visitors to this church, should know that we have the permits. Our car park will hold up to nine cars if parked sensibly, and if it is full, you can pull up in the back street and knock on the kitchen door for a permit. But do not leave the car unattended on any part of the road where there are white lines, even for a few minutes, as the wardens are quite keen.
I understand the residents concerns about cars parked in front of their houses, we have seen the problems it caused them. This is one reason we built our own car park, as big as our grounds would allow, to relieve the pressure on the residents.
It is also helpful to us, that the area is not now full of the cars of those walking into town. But I was surprised that the residents did not get free permits, I must admit.
If you are thinking of coming to Bolton Spiritualist church, please remember that we have the permits, and do not be put off by the parking restrictions.
