THE ground floor of a Westhoughton house was flooded after a water pipe under the kitchen sink became disconnected early today.
A family of four woke to find the downstairs of their home in Wayfaring had been flooded, drenching the carpets. In the kitchen, water was a couple of inches deep.3
Atherton firefighters turned the water supply off and cleared as much water as they could out of the house. The family were able to go back inside after the firefighters had left.
A fire service spokesman said that the flood had been caused after a water pipe under the kitchen sink became disconnected.
