A DRIVER was in a serious condition in hospital today with head injuries after his car collided with roadside bollards and a central reservation before flipping onto its roof.
The 55-year-old Westhoughton man was driving his Vauxhall Nova along Manchester Road West in Little Hulton towards Over Hulton when the collision happened on Saturday night near the junction with Highfield Road.
The car collided with bollards and a street lamp on a central reservation before overturning and sliding along the eastbound carriageway on its roof.
The driver, who was cut free from the wreckage by fire crews, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital with a serious head injury. He has not been named.
The road was closed for two hours as police examined the crash scene. The man had not been named.
His condition was described today as serious.
