THE Bolton Coronary Care Appeal 2002 now stands at a staggering £800,000.
It aims to raise £1 million to build a new 10-bed coronary care unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital for heart attack victims. The appeal has been adopted by Mayor of Bolton, Cllr John Walsh and Bolton Wanderers. The campaign is also supported by the Bolton Evening News.
Dr Lipscomb said: "The Coronary Care Appeal is vitally important. There is a huge amount of coronary disease in Bolton and we can not treat everyone in the way we would ideally like. The new facility would make a huge difference in not only the way in which we could treat people, but also in supporting patients' families."
