A HOST of community groups are this week due to receive cash grants worth £29,000.
Clubs and groups in Breightmet, Tonge, Hall i' th' Wood, Darcy Lever and the Haulgh are due to be awarded the grants -- ranging between £300 and £10,000 -- at a ceremony tonight as part of Bolton Council's East Bolton Regeneration Strategy. The grants are designed to improve the quality of life for residents living and working in the areas.
They are due to be awarded to 14 community groups at a presentation ceremony at Darcy Lever Cricket and Sports Club in Hacken Lane, Darcy Lever on Thursday.
Bolton Flat Green Bowling Club -- based at Leverhulme Park off Bembridge Drive in Darcy Lever -- is due to be awarded a £10,000 grant to improve facilities for members.
Other groups to be awarded cash boosts include; Bolton East Scout Group, Deepdale Residents'Association, Breightmet Toddler Group, Withins Wrestling Club, Tonge Park Residents' Association and Firwood and Moorfield Residents' Association.
Grants are available to any community group in the area.
