EAGLEY's impressive unbeaten run was extended to six games following their 2-2 draw at home against Wyre Villa in the West Lancs Premier Division.
In an entertaining contest, Eagley drew first blood when Tony Burnett scored from the penalty spot after six minutes. The villagers dominated from then on but Wyre, in a rare attack, drew level on 30 minutes when their centre forward converted from six yards after the ball had bounced loose in the villager's penalty area.
Eagley continued to have the upper hand but were controversially reduced to 10 men a minute from half time when the referee ordered one of their players off.
Faced with 45 minutes and only 10 men, Eagley were not deferred and created changes galore but were unable to convert.
On 70 minutes Wyre, once more against the run of play, scored to go 2-1 ahead.
With all seemingly lost the villagers went forward repeatedly and were justly rewarded when a superb through ball from man of the match, Mark Murray, was fired home from 20 yards by Alan Mitchell with the last kick of the game.
