AN Alex Mort hat trick helped Bolton Under 15s to a 7-3 win against Rossendale in their North West Alder Cup second clash at Sharples School.
The Bolton lads were quick off the mark when Ben Rooney (Mount St. Joseph's) fired the in front after just two minutes after Mort had been brought down inside the box.
Mort (Smithills) grabbed his first of the game volleying home two minutes later and Billy McGuinness (Turton) made it 3-0 after 15 minutes heading home a Tom Pickersgill (Little Lever) corner. Mort increased Bolton's lead after 25 minutes but Rossendale hit back with goals either side of the break.
It was always going to be Bolton's day though and McGuinness scored his second before Tom Fairhurst (Westhoughton) grabbed the sixth and Mort a hat-trick.
Bury Under 15s made it five wins out of five in the Greater Manchester Schools' League when they beat 4-3 Macclesfield at the Derby School.
Bolton Under 14s hopes of lifting the Greater Manchester Schools' League title suffered a set back when they went down 2-0 to Stockport at Priestnall
School.
