BLACKROD Town overcame BAE Barrow in the West Lancs League with a stunning 5-1 victory.
After five minutes goalkeeper Mark Allen saved well with his legs to keep Barrow out before Blackrod went ahead in the 15th minute when Mark Callow whipped in a lovely free kick which Jonny Saxon headed home.
The lead did not last long as Barrow levelled when their unmarked left back crashed home a superb shot.
Town soon recaptured the lead in the 25th minute when David Sutch scored a penalty after Jonny Saxon was pulled down in the box.
A clever Mark Callow corner found Sutch at the near post and he bundled the ball over the line in the 55th minute.
Leading scorer Mark Height replaced Saxon on 75 minutes and made an immedaite impact with goal after a surging Kris Arkwright run and Chris Tonge cross.
Veteran Mick Crispin, club captain, then joined they fray following a prolonged suspension.
Mark Height ended the scoring right on full time making it 5-1 to Blackrod.
The Reserves made it to the last eight of the Houston Cup by defeating Hesketh Bank 3-2 - their first defeat of the season.
