BOLTON'S nightlife is due to expand again with the addition of another trendy wine bar.
A major advertising campaign surrounding a mystery new watering hole, situated at 43-45 Bradshawgate, has been tantalising town centre drinkers for some time, but the name will not be announced for another two weeks.
Described on huge posters outside the premises as "the place that's going to be the place to be", the owners claim that the bar will provide elegance and sophistication.
Owned by North-west company Provence Leisure, who also own the Parmesan and Pepper Italian restaurants and bars in Bury, Oldham, Preston and Haydock, it will be part of a group but will have its own name, character and style.
A company spokesman said: "We are aiming for a modern feel and a 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' look. It will have a simple and clean appearance, but not too minimalist -- stylish with leather couches and framed pictures on the walls."
The new bar will join an array of equally fashionable nightspots which have shot up in the town centre during recent months. These include Dali Bar, Elements and Tiger Feet all on Bradshawgate, Pepper Alley, on Manor Street, The Goose on Deansgate, and Life Bar, in Nelson Square.
One venue, Cafe Bar 210 at the corner of Deansgate and Bradshawgate, closed last month, just a few months after it opened.
But Provence Leisure, whose head office is above the new Bradshawgate bar, believe it is a case of the more the merrier.
"The competition won't be a problem. There is always room for more business and there are plenty of people to satisfy. I think we are different enough to survive."
The latest trendy nightspot, which will stay open until 1am and feature DJs playing current music, is due to open on Thursday, March 6. The name will be revealed from February 24.
