A 73-YEAR-OLD woman put up a brave struggle after a thief snatched her handbag as she walked through Bury.
The victim was in Ainsworth Road at about 11am yesterday when a man approached her from behind.
He grabbed her handbag from her shoulder and tried to run away.
The woman struggled with the thief and tried to keep hold of her belongings.
He eventually ran off with the bag, leaving the pensioner extremely shaken.
The thief is described as white, 6ft 2ins, of stocky build and was wearing black clothes and a black bobble hat.
