A WOMAN told a court how a man who came into her bedroom in the middle of the night climbed in between the sheets and sexually assaulted her.
The victim was shocked when she realised the man was her former partner Lee Millington.
But Millington claimed that he had been invited to the house and that their three-year relationship only ended when he walked out that same night following a row.
The woman told Bolton Crown Court that she woke to see the defendant in her bedroom getting undressed.
He then got into bed with her, held her against him and then later pinned her down while he sexually assaulted her.
Millington, aged 25, of Tonge Road, Little Lever, denies indecent assault.
The jury was told that the hearing was a re-trial, and that Millington had earlier been cleared of assault, but the previous jury had been unable to agree on the indecent assault charge.
Prosecutor Vanessa Thomson said that the woman left the bed after the attack and walked downstairs to try to phone for help.
Millington allegedly took the phone from her, then got dressed and left. The court heard that when the police arrived, the woman was distressed.
Millington was arrested an hour later and told police that she had expected him at the house. He had been out clubbing and said she knew he planned to visit her.
