A MAN accused of indecently assaulting his former partner in the middle of the night has been cleared by a jury.
Lee Millington had been on trial at Bolton Crown Court facing one allegation of indecent assault. He had denied the charge. But yesterday Millington, aged 25, of Tonge Road, Little Lever, walked free from the court following the jury's verdict.
The woman had told the court that their relationship had ended and said she was frightened to see Millington in her bedroom.
But Millington claimed that he had been invited to the house and said the relationship had been ongoing until he walked out that night following a row.
The court heard that a jury in a previous trial had acquitted Millington of assault occasioning actual bodily harm but had been unable to agree on a verdict for the indecent assault charge.
