BOLTON DJ Andy Price has moved from behind the scenes to in front of the mic to present Key 103's Saturday night dance radio show, Back To Our house.

Price, who hails from Heaton, began DJ-ing at university. "There was a pub that I happened to be working in behind the bar," he explained. "Then I met some guys who were running a night. They gave me a go warming up and it went from there really. Within a month I was playing some of the main spots and became a main part of the team."

The experience stood him in good stead. Returning to the North-west, Price established his own monthly night at Zumbar in Oxford Road called Solarphonic and is resident at the Music Box night Blend.

The DJ has also played guest slots at The Space in Leeds, Peach at Garlands in Liverpool and Tribal Sessions at Sankeys Soap.

The 25-year-old, who has worked behind the scenes for Key 103 since his return to the North-west, decided he would like to transfer his skills to the air.

"I was working in production, then about three months ago I moved into the marketing department," he explained. 'The programme director decided to concentrate on the weekend, and I'd been thinking about this idea for the show. So we (Price and fellow DJ Crooky) thought, right, we're going to ask! And he gave us a go."

Price and Crooky can be heard playing underground house on Saturday nights from 11pm until 2am, as well as a Friday night from 1am until 2am. "All Back To Mine" caters for a funky, post-bar audience and sees the DJs giving the station that essential edge.

So what would your dream slot be? "Pete Tong's Radio 1 slot," answered Price without hesitation. And why not? He's definitely heading in the right direction.
