THE funerals of two young rugby stars who were killed in a road accident in Bury are to be held next week.
A service for Billy Joe Edwards, aged 20, will be held on Monday at noon at St Mary's Church in Standishgate, Wigan.
The funeral of his 18-year-old friend Craig Johnson will take place the following day at 11am at St Wilfrid's Parish Church in Standish.
Billy Joe, the brother of former Great Britain star Shaun Edwards, and Craig were killed after the car they were travelling in careered out of control and hit a brick wall in Turton Road, Tottington, in Bury in the early hours of last Sunday.
Both men who played for Wigan Warriors' under-21 side, suffered multiple injuries and were killed instantly.
The accident happened shortly after 12.30am as the two players drove along the main road in a Peugeot 106. The road was closed for six hours.
