Horwich produced a winning whitewash in the team categories in last Sunday's 37 mile Rochdale Canal Relay.
The seven stage touch relay consisted of 6x5 mile legs along the canal and a seven mile leg involving a circuit of Hollingworth Lake.
Horwich won the men's, ladies' and mixed team awards, entering an impressive five teams in all (two mens, two mixed and a ladies team).
The A team of C Rigby, Rowlands, Muller, R Jackson, Selby, Carter and Barlow led from start to finish, and won by an incredible 5min 16sec ahead of East Cheshire in second.
The Harriers' winning mixed team finished ninth overall (A Neary, C Heyes, A Hallahan, J Simmonite, S Norris, A Foster, L Smart) with Anthony Hallahan having a great run to be third fastest on Leg Three.
The winning ladies team of Higson, Gorman, Budgett, Jones, Leyland, Catterall and Guffogg finished 14th overall only one place behind the Harrier men's B team in 13th.
The fantastic turnout of some 35 runners, coupled with some impressive performances and excellent organisation by the various captains, ensured Horwich were by far and away the top club of the day both in terms of results and commitment.
Last Sunday's GM Sports Hall County Championships held at the Dome, saw Horwich RMI Harrier juniors win an impressive haul of 12 medals.
Among the medalists U11 athletes David Whalley and Chide Onwudike were outstanding. David won the one lap and standing triple jump events, was second in the three lap race and was a member of the victorious U11 relay team.
