COULD someone explain to me why I should support a team of foreigners claiming to be Bolton Wanderers.
I fail to see any advantages. Oh yeah! To stay in the Premiership. I'm sorry, that doesn't wash with me.
I had the time of my life following the Wanderers through the leagues in the last 20 years. At Highbury 3-1 up in the cup and at Meadow Lane 6-0 down at half time. Bolton not in the top flight on both occasions.
My arguments against are that Nat Lofthouse wouldn't even have made it to the bench in 2003. How many players have come through the youth ranks since McAteer and Stubbs or given Bolton such good service as Julian Darby and Jimmy Phillips?
I am also not prepared to finance their inflated and ridiculous salaries.
Finally, Winston Bogarde, Chelsea's overseas player, earned £2.1m last year and made two, yes two, appearances.
