WITH all the media talking about war and hostilities of one country with another, is it possible to have a peaceful life?

Not so in Bolton! I live in a "desirable" street, yet find no peace and tranquillity.

Why? Because morning, noon and night, I am greeted with the constant "thud" of football in the street. If I reproach these youngsters, I am greeted with abuse and foul language from people who do not even live in the proximity.

Is it not reasonable to expect some consideration for the elderly, the working people and the elders of the community? I think not. Some of these young people appear to have no restraint. The council inform me that "NO BALL GAMES" notices can only be put up in council estates.

With the opportunities of buying your council house well developed, I thought the idea of a council estate was a thing of the past. Has anyone else had similar problems, or does it only happen in my street?
