Q. I have a small hammer, silver in colour, marked Blue Bird Toffee. Is it worth anything?
Mr A
A: About £5 -- these hammers were used in shops and given away as a promotional item by the toffee firm in the 1920s and 1930s, and are not uncommon. Much more collectable are Blue Bird toffee tins, larger examples of which can fetch £20 to £50 each in excellent condition.
