Q: I have an unusual item which is made of copper and has a hinge on it. It is embossed in the shape of a rabbit. Any idea what it is and is it worth anything?
Mrs K
A: This is actually a chocolate mould and dates back to around 1900. It was common at the time for households to have various chocolate moulds in their kitchen, often in the form of animals, so that chocolate treats could be made for children and it was also common practice at that time to make chocolate eggs. This particular copper mould is worth about £40.
