BOLTON Under 15s suffered a setback in the Northern Merit League with a disappointing 4-0 reverse against West Lancashire at Sharples School.
The game was in doubt with severe overnight frost making the pitch virtually unplayable but it was the visitors who adapted better to the conditions opening the scoring after only five minutes.
Bolton suffered another setback when West Lancashire added their second five minutes later.
And the visitors continued to dominate, scoring a third on the half hour mark, leaving Bolton wishing the game had been called off.
Bolton rallied after the break and defended well until five minutes from time when the visitors consolidated a fine performance with another goal.
Bolton's only chance of the game came in the dying seconds when Alex Mort (Smithills) came close after good work from Sean Chambers (Mount St. Joseph's).
