SPEEDING motorists in Lancashire paid more than £7.5 million in fines last year following the introduction of road cameras.
The installation of 150 extra speed cameras around the county last year sparked much controversy and debate.
But the cameras have shown a remarkable increase in the number of motorists caught speeding -- around 127,000, an increase of 600 per cent.
There were also nine fewer deaths and 265 fewer injuries in 2002.
