BOLTON Open boss Robin Day is to continue his redevelopment plans for the Regent Park course despite golf guru Andrew 'Chubby' Chandler withdrawing his support.
Day, who invested £1.5m in the Bolton Open course at Harwood, has agreed to underwrite the £750,000 development cost at Regent Park, which includes a new driving range.
Chandler is boss of Rostherne-based International Sports Management, whose stable includes Ryder Cup stars Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood.
Chandler cited "commercial reasons" for his decision to withdraw his backing at the club where he played as a teenager.
