THE winter continues to deter most anglers with only the hardiest venturing out for competitive angling.
At Bradshaw Hall Fisheries 'Silver Fish Match', Dave Williams of BAS Sensas used his bit bashing prowess to the full when he won with a bag weighing 7lbs-4ozs.
Colin Mullholland of Tackle Factory made runners up position with 6lbs-2ozs and Ken Power (Tricast Highfield) came in third with 5lbs-0ozs.
In the Sunday Pairs match on Lakes 2 and 4, Roger Gordon of Team Trafford returned the top weight with 12lbs-6ozs.
Bill Brierly made second place with 10lbs-12ozs with Dave Williams making third with 8lbs-8ozs. Fourth was Rob Hoult with 7lbs-8ozs and three tied for fifth spot with Stewart Holmes, John Jones and Stewart Wardle all recording 7lbs-2ozs.
Dave Williams and Trevor Platt were the top team on the day followed by Mick Cocker and Rob Hoult and third were Bill and David Brierly.
Meanwhile, over at Doe Hey Reservoir, Bob Fearnhead was up to his usual party tricks by winning both the Wednesday and Sunday opens.
Wednesday, 1st. Bob Fearnhead 2-14-0, 2nd. Marvin Hyde 2-10-0, 3rd. Fred Yates 1-15-0.
Sunday, Bob Fearnhead 4-11-0, 2nd. Roland Stansfield 3-2-0, 3rd. Peter Riley 2-3-0.
