Q: I have heard that pottery by Susie Cooper can be valuable. I have a small bowl about five inches across with her name on the back. The pattern is of a horse standing with one leg in the air.
Mrs K.
A. Susie Cooper was a contemporary of the more famous Clarice Cliff but is increasingly recognised as a ceramics designer of equal importance. The bowl you describe was designed for fruit or cereals, dates from the 1930s and was part of a series by Susie Cooper called Quadrapets. It has a value of about £100 to £120.
