A CHANCE to be chauffeur driven in a stretch limousine to a romantic dinner for two is one of the lots on offer at an auction during the Mayor of Bolton's annual dinner and cabaret.

The auction will be held at the Friday event on March 7, and the prize has been donated by Bliss Bridal Centre of Bolton.

The Friday evening is already sold out but there are still tickets for the Thursday, March 6, evening at the town hall.

It is the first time the event has been staged over two nights. And the Mayor, Cllr John Walsh said at £20 a ticket, the evening was great value for money.

He said: "The event is always popular and people come back every year, so this year we thought we would spread it over two nights and are expecting 300 guests on each evening.

"And it is all in a good cause as the proceeds go to the Mayor's Coronary Care Appeal."

The Festival Hall and Banqueting Hall will be used for dining with the Albert Hall turned over to dancing for the evening.

The Master of Ceremonies will be Kevin Williams and Bolton Music Centre will also help with the entertainment which includes Bolton Youth Jazz Orchestra. Topping the bill will be an Abba tribute band.

Tickets are available from the Mayor's office at the town hall.
