WE regularly visit our son and daughter and their families in London.
We find it absolutely incredible that town centre car parking charges there are substantially lower than those levied in Bolton. We have lived in this town for 40 years and, until recently, been proud to do so. It is with great sadness therefore that we can see clear signs that the town centre is dying.
Faced with the competition from out-of-town shopping complexes such as Middlebrook and Trafford, not to mention our neighbours (Bury, Wigan etc), the decline will continue unless Bolton council face up to the major problem faced by shoppers in the form of high car park charges and the plague of over-zealous traffic wardens.
