HUNDREDS of people found out more about the opportunities available to them at a careers convention in Bolton town centre.
The event, organised by the Bolton Evening News, was a huge success with people of all ages picking up information from various companies. The fair was also due to continue today (Saturday). The convention, the first of its kind, is being held a marquee in Victoria Square.
Companies included the police, the army, advice centre Connexions, colleges and sponsors Axa Insurance. Pat Little, group classified manager at the Bolton Evening News, said: "We've had hundreds of people through already and they are people of all ages. So far, it's proved a huge success." Police said more than 50 people wanted application packs in the first two hours. The convention takes place today, from 10am to 4pm.
