MAY I congratulate the Bolton Evening News on the choice of letters chosen for the Fans Forum on February 8.
I am sometimes confused at the conflicting opinions on BWFC, but your collection of letters on the above date made perfect sense.
Two letters struck me instantly, especially by Geoff Ainsworth, possibly because I can relate to incidents, fixtures and the passion involved if you witnessed these events.
Not in anyway is this an attempt to appear blase, but I have enjoyed and suffered the good and bad times.
To support Mike Clarkson's letter, we are "spoiled". Fifteen years ago I attended Bolton v Darlington on a Friday night, to see a 1-1 draw in the old Fourth Division. I am not claiming to be the most loyal supporter, but I am astonished by being surrounded by so-called fans in an environment which many clubs would be proud to display. We are now in a position in the league which we have not been in for over 20 years.
Maybe I understand the incomprehension and frustration, but let's face the reality that to stay up again would be fantastic yet to make an impression on the Premiership we need to retain our status for at least another five years.
As a plea, be happy, enjoy your football, and for God's sake be a true supporter.
