POLICE officers in Manchester who tested a national uniform complained that it left them "freezing".
Police Federation spokesman Gordon Johnson said: "Officers were saying the national uniform fleece was freezing."
The new proposed uniform includes a fleece, replacing the normal pullover, and combat-style trousers with pockets on the legs.
