ON Monday afternoon, February 17, I had the misfortune to collapse near to Bolton bus station when on my way home.

When I came to, I was lying on the ground, with a dear lady bending over me. She kept assuring me that I was all right and not to move in case of further injury, and she told me that an ambulance was on its way.

The ambulance arrived soon afterwards, and since then I have been in the Royal Bolton Hospital, where I have been treated for fractures in my arm.

The staff here have been so kind to me, but I feel guilty in not being able to thank that kind lady who attended to me on Monday when I felt so distressed. I hope that she will be able to read this letter, or that someone who knows her will convey my thanks to her.
