SALVA Ballesta and Pierre-Yves Andre have been told they have a hard act to follow as understudies for the luckless Henrik Pedersen.
Wanderers' two loan strikers are in the frame after the Dane was sidelined for up to five weeks with the shoulder injury he suffered in Saturday's derby draw with Manchester United. The injury is a bitter blow to the player and a serious setback for Wanderers.
Sam Allardyce acknowledged: "On a gradual basis Henrik was becoming more a power and a focus in the side.
"The amount of work he put in and the pressure he put Manchester United defenders under and the contribution he made was immense. He'll be sorely missed.
"It shows how important it was to get the two players in when we did but, if there's one thing that Salva and Pierre have to look at it is first and foremost having to replace Henrik with a similar type of workrate as well as their own abilities.
"It's really important to have the back-up because of the injury but I'm very sad for Henrik because he's been playing his best football for Bolton Wanderers."
Pedersen dislocated his left shoulder when he crashed to the ground after a collision with United keeper Fabien Barthez. Sprained ligaments mean he is likely to be missing for four to five weeks but Allardyce says Wanderers' medical men will be trying to get him back sooner than that.
