AN inquest has been opened into the death of a father and his three-year-old son in a road accident.
Mark Humphries, of Quebec Street, Bolton, was killed instantly when his Ford Escort was was involved in an accident with a Ford Focus in Dawber's Lane, Euxton, on Sunday, February 16.
His son, Kieran Rice, suffered serious head injuries and died at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury the following day. His 12-year-old sister, Rachel Rice, also suffered internal injuries and is still in hospital.
The inquest at Preston was adjourned until a later date.
