COCKS and hens, clucked and crowed at the Bolton and district Poultry Society's 25 anniversary show on Saturday.
Owners of all ages exhibited more than 500 birds of various shapes and sizes along with about 300 eggs.
More than 1,000 people attended the event which has become an institution after running for more than a quarter of a century.
Winner of the Bolton Evening News trophy was a female Black Leghorn Bantam owned by Andrew Waterwoth and Ken Woods, from Leigh.
The show was sponsored by local businesses.
Winners of the prizes were said to be eggstatic although we cannot confirm this.
