Q: In the 1950s when as a child 1 had a blue Austin A40 pedal car with real blow up tyres and working headlights. I think quite a lot were made as they were popular at the time and though mine was scrapped years ago, I would like to acquire another one. What sort of price would I have to pay? Mr H
A: The A40 pedal car was certainly very popular and examples do turn up reasonably often around the antiques fairs and auctions. Prices vary from around £500 for ones in quite poor condition through to about £1,500 for examples that are either in, or have been restored to, pristine condition.
