A FAMILY from Farnworth were devastated after antique jewellery collected by a late relative was stolen by burglars.
The jewellery, worth hundreds of pounds but described by one family member as "priceless", was taken when burglars broke into their home, in Masefield Drive, while they were out.
When the family returned, they discovered that a Playstation and a video recorder had also been stolen in the break-in.
The family, who did not want to be identified, said that the jewellery had been left to them by an elderly relative when she died on Christmas Day 2001.
They said that the jewellery was of great sentimental value to them -- and appealed for the return of their family heirlooms.
A family member said: "We are absolutely gutted about the jewellery being stolen.
"The electrical equipment can be replaced, but this jewellery is priceless to us.
"The relative collected antique jewellery from all over the country. Even though we're probably not going to see it again, I'm hoping that it will be found."
The burglary took place on Saturday, February 15, between 7.15pm and 9pm.
