BOLTON Mets RLFC suffered their worst defeat of the season, going down 56-4 to Parr Hare and Hounds of St Helens.
The Mets looked good in the early exchanges, with loose forward Joe Harte breaking through but unforced handling errors cost therm dearly.
Bolton suffered two body blows when Harte limped off injured and play-maker scrum half Mark Green had to retire with a suspected broken nose. They trailed 28-0 at the break and there was no way back.
The Mets started the second half with a try by centre Lee Williams, but Parr Hare and Hounds soon regained control and coasted to an easy victory.
Coach Chris Brown had plenty to say after the game: "On paper this was the strongest side we've put out all season, yet it was our worst performance. We gave the ball away too easily and our defence and tackling, usually our strongest point, was poor. Next week we take on unbeaten League leaders Widnes Ball at home and things have to change."
