WHILE I live in Horwich and work as a heating and electrical engineer (self-employed), this is the first time I have had cause to work in the town centre on Bradshawgate.
Not being used to parking meters, I believed I was doing the correct thing by paying for one hour and moving and paying for another hour. This in itself was inconvenient as my van is also my workshop and materials store room. I also left a large notepad on the dashboard at the side of the tickets stating that I was working on Bradshawgate. I told this to a parking warden when I left my vehicle and he said this would be OK.
I thought that I was in time to pay for another hour when I returned to my vehicle until I found that I was seven minutes too late, hence I received a parking ticket.
If this is the way that the parking wardens treat the workers of this area, then very soon it will become a ghost town.
May I say that this will stop me from working in the town centre in future, as the behaviour of the parking wardens is disgusting.
