A YOUNG mum who died of brain cancer is the face of a new campaign to get more organ and tissue donors.

Zoe Greenhalgh, aged 25, who lived in Astley Bridge, died last October secure in the knowledge that she would save other people's lives after donating her body to medical science.

And her proud husband Chris was at the launch of the givelife.info project -- which features posters of Zoe -- at the Reebok Stadium last night.

The project targets the North-west, where there is just one donation every two days -- despite 150 people a day dying in the region due to a lack of donors. Zoe's gesture allowed four people to be given the gift of sight thanks to the donation of the corneas in her eyes.

The scheme was launched by two Preston North End footballers, Jonathan Gould and George Koumantarakis, who signed-up to be donors. They were joined by North-west hospital staff and families of people who have donated their organs.
