REGARDING the article in the Bolton Evening News on Friday, February 21, concerning Marylawns Care Home and the proprietor Lesley Wilkinson.

My mother was cared for in a most kindly and caring way in the home for three years in the 1990s. Visitors were welcome at any time and we always found the staff very polite and friendly. Mother was always kept scrupulously clean and our impression of the house was one of cleanliness and tidiness. She enjoyed her time there and made friends with the Wilkinson family and the other residents.

When she became more poorly, the staff nursed her with visits from her GP and the district nurses and gave her much tender loving care until she died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 88. We, as a family, have nothing but praise for Lesley Wilkinson and feel so sorry that things have turned out as they have.
