A JURY has returned several verdicts in an alleged beating and rape trial but is still out on two remaining charges.
Tabriaz Mahmood is alleged to have beaten and then raped a woman, but he claimed she had made up the allegations.
He was cleared on two rape charges, but the jury is still considering its verdict on two remaining rape allegations.
Mahmood has also been convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm but cleared of a second similar count.
The jury returned guilty verdicts on three charges of common assault but cleared Mahmood of one other charge of common assault.
He has also been convicted of making threats to kill and intimidation of a witness and the jury was due to resume its deliberations on the two remaining rape charges today.
Mahmood, aged 22, of Cecil Street, Bury, is on trial at Bolton Crown Court facing a total of 12 charges.
He had been accused of four counts of rape, two charges of causing actual bodily harm, four counts of common assault and making a threat to kill against the woman.
He is also accused of intimidation by making threats through a third party that the woman should drop the charges. He denied all the charges.
