ST George's Day will be marked in true Lancastrian style in Bolton with a special event at the Moat House Hotel in aid of the Mayor's Charity.
With a hot pot supper, themed decorations and a varied programme of entertainment, it promises to be an evening of light-hearted humour, combined with a touch of English pride and fun.
Lancashire dialect entertainer Hilda Barton, soprano soloist Ann Haslam and the Greater Manchester Police Male Voice Choir are just some of the acts lined up for the event on Wednesday, April 23.
"We do not do enough to celebrate St George's Day," said the Mayor, Cllr John Walsh OBE. "This is an opportunity for Boltonians to celebrate and help charity at the same time."
Tickets, priced £7.50 including supper, are available from the Mayor's Office, Bolton Town Hall, BL1 1RU, telephone 01204 331057.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Mayor's Charity, principally the Coronary Care Appeal for the Royal Bolton Hospital.
